01

Grace Birthing Center

The Grace Birthing Center, located in Terrier Rouge, Grand Bassin, Nord, is a simple and visually appealing building. This creatively designed center incorporates two main characteristics that make it stand out. Firstly, the building is constructed using ad-hoc techniques, utilizing rammed earth sourced from the site itself. This construction method gives the center a beautiful “terre de sienne brule” aesthetic, adding a touch of rustic elegance to the overall design.

Furthermore, the birthing center features bamboo walls on both sides, enhancing its eco-friendly and sustainable nature. These bamboo elements not only contribute to the aesthetics but also provide a natural and calming atmosphere for expectant mothers.

The Grace Birthing Center represents an awe-inspiring and impactful project, specifically designed to provide women with the best possible conditions for giving birth. It embodies a holistic approach to maternal healthcare, incorporating both functionality and aesthetics to create a nurturing environment. The center’s thoughtful design ensures that women receive the care they deserve during this significant phase of their lives, fostering a safe and comfortable atmosphere for childbirth.

Bethesda

Bethesda Medical Center is an aesthetically pleasing modular medical facility that incorporates three captivating design elements. The first notable feature is the bamboo ceiling, which adds a touch of natural elegance to the space. This sustainable material not only provides a visually appealing aesthetic but also contributes to a soothing and calming atmosphere for patients.

Another interesting aspect of the center is the use of bare concrete and earth blocks in an innovative 8-shaped design. This design not only creates an eye-catching architectural feature but also serves a functional purpose. The unique shape allows for optimal ventilation throughout the building, ensuring a fresh and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

To enhance sustainability, the Bethesda Medical Center incorporates skylights and whirly birds. Skylights allow natural sunlight to illuminate the interior spaces, reducing the need for artificial lighting and creating a more inviting atmosphere. Whirly birds, on the other hand, facilitate natural ventilation, promoting air circulation and improving the overall energy efficiency of the building.

Through the thoughtful integration of bamboo, bare concrete, earth blocks, an 8-shaped design, skylights, and whirly birds, the Bethesda Medical Center embodies a harmonious blend of aesthetics and sustainability. This modular medical center not only offers a visually pleasing environment but also prioritizes the well-being of patients and the efficient use of resources.

Saint Raphael - Second Mile

The Medical Center Maternity and Nutrition Center, developed for the NGO Second Mile, is an impactful project currently under construction in the vibrant town of Saint Raphael, Nord. This comprehensive facility aims to cater to the specific needs of the local community, focusing on two critical areas: maternity care and nutrition.

The design of the medical center embraces a welcoming and functional approach, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for expectant mothers and promoting the well-being of infants and young children. The maternity section is thoughtfully designed to provide a tranquil and supportive space, equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities and amenities to facilitate the birthing process.

Additionally, the nutrition center within the facility will serve as a vital resource for educating the community on proper nutrition practices, especially for infants and young children. It will offer workshops, consultations, and resources to empower families and promote healthy eating habits for optimal growth and development.

As this project takes shape in Saint Raphael, it exemplifies the commitment of Second Mile NGO to improving healthcare access and addressing the specific needs of the local population. The medical center will become a beacon of hope, providing essential medical services, expert care, and invaluable educational resources to support the well-being of mothers and children in the community.
